The last moments of life

Following the tragic car accident that killed three students from the University of Colima, Montserrat, one of the victims, shared her final moments with her friends on social media after leaving the graduation party.

It was through Facebook that Monserrat, a 21-year-old marketing major, shared some videos of her time at the graduation party and later leaving the event; in one of the clips, she can be heard saying, “We’re the last ones, what’s up?”

The tragic accident that killed three students from the University of Colima occurred Sunday morning on the Villa de Álvarez–El Chivato state highway, approximately one kilometer north of the curve known as “Los Mangos,” where the Volkswagen sedan they were traveling in overturned.

The victims were identified as Nashla, 20, a medical student; Christopher, 18; and Monserrat, 21, both of whom were studying marketing.

The survivors were identified as Hector, the driver of the car, and Sergio, the passenger. Both were taken to nearby hospitals with serious injuries.

The rector of the University of Colima, Christian Torres Ortiz Zermeño, issued obituaries in memory of the deceased and sent his condolences to family and friends.

Likewise, Petronilo Vázquez Vuelvas, director of the Charrotaurino Festivities Committee of Villa de Álvarez, deeply regretted the death of Monserrat, who had been named ambassador of said festivities.
